Southernhay United Reformed Church is an exciting and prominent Grade II listed building in the centre of Exeter, which previously presented imposing solid doors to the public in a less-than-inviting welcome. hmad|architects were commissioned to remodel their entrance lobby to create a bright and open space with full accessibility to demonstrate the open, welcoming and lively nature of the church.

 

Fully glazed entrance doors incorporating URC signage replaced the solid timber doors to the street and further improvements to access were provided with a new wheelchair accessible ramp and DDA compliant doors to the church hall.
