Low energy 'bungalow'

hmad|architects created a striking design which spectacularly transformed this property into a beautiful energy-efficient family home. Our design features a stunning double height flexible living space with a bespoke glass and timber staircase to the new first-floor office and bedrooms, in addition to contemporary high-performance aluminium glazing and sliding doors which allow a seamless transition to the gardens.

We incorporated several renewable energy technologies into the design in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the home and reduce the client's energy bills. These included: solar thermal; an air source heat pump; whole house mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and a log burner.
