With the help of generous donations from local businesses and individuals, awards from postcode and national lotteries, the goodwill from hmad|architects and a sizeable grant from Devon County Council the project will transform the existing pavilion into a vibrant, well used cafe catering for all park users. Staffed by adults with special needs and volunteer helpers, this will not only become a welcome addition to the features of the park, but will provide much needed employment opportunities as well.

Dating from the mid 20th century, Forde Park Pavilion located in the Forde Park Conservation area of Newton Abbot, Devon is of special interest and character to the park and the local area.

The plans include some small scale alterations to the current building to preserve and enhance its special interest and character.

Externally, the development will include the provision of a new access route suitable for disabled staff and customers, and a raised terrace area to the front of the building.
