dartmoor cottage
Located within Dartmoor National Park, the cottage is Grade II listed and has been in the same family for 50 years. It is a modest cottage on a large sloping site, with three bedrooms at first floor level and one living space and a bathroom to the ground floor. Currently there is a small lean-to kitchen extension and also an adjoining barn that was rescued from dilapidation and has been converted into an en suite bedroom.
The cottage is built from local stone and has painted timber windows and an artificial slate roof.
The clients have appointed hmad|architects' to assist them in obtaining consent to increase the size of the existing kitchen extension, whilst improving the relationship between the cottage and the garden. They would like the extension to be modest in scale to minimise its impact on the cottage and garden and make the most of the views across Dartmoor.
