conservatory replacement

This hmad|architects project consists of the replacement of an existing conservatory which is too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter, with a garden room which will have a much better thermal performance.

 

The spectacular views are maintained by including a large window over the garden, and the bi-fold doors will connect the house to the west-facing terrace. The existing house has a strong, symmetrical form so the extension has been designed so it can be easily read as new intervention. It will be faced with untreated timber boarding, which will silver down over time to contrast with and compliment the render finish to the house.
