Barn conversion

Comprising an 'L' shaped range of three attached barns of which two have been previously converted to form the Client's home - The West Barn - was undeveloped.

hmad|architects were appointed as Architects for the conversion and integration of the West Barn into the family home.

The West Barn was disconnected to its adjoining barn by a historic double height 'through passage'. The design created a first floor infill spanning the 'through passage' to allow the living accommodation to connect at the first floor.

hmad|architects' approach retained the character of this historic building, whilst allowing the disused barn to be brought back into use as part of the family home.
