hmad|architects were employed by The Gaia Trust to carry out a condition report and feasibility assessment for the conservation and conversion of multiple Grade II and Grade II* listed buildings in support of the client's applications for a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant. The Trust's aim was to develop the mission of the charity by adapting the buildings in order to offer residential retreats and education courses focused on nature conservation.
Our role was to assess the repair needs of the existing properties and investigate the feasibility of the renovation and conversion of the existing buildings. We employed a structural engineer and quantity surveyor to assist us in preparing a costed report. Our viability report formed the basis of the Trust's future plans and was used to support their HLF grant funding application.
