Retaining the existing appearance whilst totally re-inventing a contemporary interior layout to reflect the clients lifestyle

Project Name: A spacious new home made by reordering an old house

The client liked the external appearance of this existing residence but wanted a contemporary interior and practical family home which made the most of its spectacular coastal setting. Our design improves the connections between the house and it's garden with a new highly glazed extension. Internally our new layout creates large open plan living spaces organised around a central hall containing a bespoke staircase. With it's unique balustrading we have created an exciting internal focus to the house. The new light and airy hall rises the full height of the house with a dramatic rooflight. To increase the useable space within the original building volume we have introduced a third storey which provides two ensuite bedrooms with far reaching views.
